Use this space to share ideas for ways any of the Cool Tools could be used in your curriculum.
I researched Presentation Tools and there are a lot of great websites to use to put together a better presentation with just PowerPoint. It is very eye-opening as to how many there actually are! I found many excellent Presentation Tools, but one of them that I really like and would be perfect for classroom use is MyBrainShark. In MyBrainShark, you can add your own voice to your PowerPoint, narrate a document- this is useful to walk students through a demonstration or clarify your argument, upload a video to your PowerPoint, which is useful to show your audience what exactly you are presenting about, make a photo album and you can also add your voice to the photos and produce a podcast! Students can also search videos that expertise made on this website for learning content. MyBrainShark would be good for upper elementary use, middle school and high school. This Presentation Tool can be used through out all of the content areas, such as it is art when putting together graphics and the design of the Presentation; a student could present how to solve a mathematical problem while speaking on his or her presentation, and showing a video, and the same goes for science, social studies and humanities. Students will be able to use all the features of MyBrainShark for all content area. -Rachel Nappo
I researched research tools. There is a ton of informational websites that can help students find what they are looking for. They have sites to help you find answers to problems you need to solve i mathematics. They have sites that help you find more sites to broaden your search, like google. They have sites, like findthatfile.com that help you find different media files like video and audio. The advantage of this type of site is that it finds the exact file so you don't have to sift through an entire site before you get to the information you are looking for. Specifically wolframalpha and sosmath are great websites to find some answers for lots of different math problems. Sosmath provides a lot of information and displays it in a easily understandable way. It also presents the different topics in math and separates them according to subject.

I researched Slidshow tools. The websites found are all wonderful to use; however, they are all useful for certain types of slideshows. Some only work well with slideshows that are using just photos. Some can process powerpoints. Some can even give access to uploading powerpoints and slide shows up on a webpage. These are great ways to make sure that EVERY person can participate in what you have to say about your class. For example, if you took your students on a field trip to a science museum and took pictures you would want the parents to see what you did that day, not just the students. This is where uploading a powerpoint or photo show onto your classroom webpage would enhance the knowledge and interest of parents. The activity on your classroom webpage would heighten also. The best website to use for this is Sliderocket. This website combines utilizing a powerpoint on a webpage and editing it. This is the best way to go, in my opinion.
